Colocation Advantages

Author: John Tourloukis

In today's fiercely competitive environment, any business – small, medium or large – can succeed only if it maintains business continuity, which in turn, is mostly dependent on automated data handling systems. In the wake of recent natural and other calamities, companies have increased their investments in highly secure storage and retrieval systems for their data.

For companies whose core business is not IT, it makes better business sense to outsource the storage and maintenance of these systems. This strategy allows them to save time and money while harnessing the power of IT as a force multiplier for their core business.

What is a data center?
A data center is simply a room that facilitates the storage and management, of servers and other computing equipment of any company in a precision-controlled environment. But for small and medium businesses, an in-house data center is an expensive proposition in many ways:

  • High initial investment in space and equipment
  • High day-to-day
    management costs
  • Hiring and retaining personnel to maintain
    the data center
  • High cost of upgrading technology and acquiring
    newer services

In this scenario, it becomes far more economical to outsource this service to a colocation data center.

What is colocation?
A colocation (also known less popularly as 'co-location') data center is a facility where the servers and other computing equipment belonging to different companies share space. Each company's equipment is physically secured in a wire cage or cabinet with high security locking systems.

Why colocation?
Colocation offers businesses several advantages with regard to time and money.

  • You don't have to worry about recurring capital costs if you
are upgrading since you can rent more space (or give up space if you are
    downsizing)
  • You are saved the expense of hiring and training
your own personnel to operate and maintain your systems. If you have to
upgrade, having your own personnel means additional training costs or paying
    outside consultants.

Who uses colocation data centers?
The answer is: almost any company whose business continuity is dependent on smooth access to flow of data and for whom system downtime is not an option.
  • Web-based e-commerce companies use the colocation data center facilities
to ensure a safe environment for their equipment, plus economical and redundant
    connections to the Internet
  • Major non-IT entrepreneurs use the facility for economic data storage and
management, as well as safety from disasters
  • Telecommunication companies use colocation data center facilities to exchange
traffic with other telcos and also to provide reliable access to potential
    clients

Facilities at Colocation Data Centers
Colocation data centers offer physical space on lease to customers for housing their servers and other computing devices. You install your servers and/or other telecommunication equipment in the physical space leased from the data center. The leased space is typically comprised of either full cabinets or portions of a cabinet measured in Rack Units or RU (1RU corresponds to 1.75 vertical inches of space). Much larger spaces, like a caged section of a room or complete private rooms or suites, are also available depending on your requirements.

All leased space is supported by:
  • Precision-controlled air-conditioning systems
    with incorporated redundancy
  • 24x7 power back-up systems for all equipment to
ensure zero downtime or minimal disruption in operations due to power failure
  • High-capacity, reliable power generators
  • State-of-the-art fire detection and suppression systems to guard against
    potential losses due to fire
  • Sophisticated onsite security through surveillance cameras and advanced
biometric systems to prevent unauthorized entry
  • Networking equipment including state-of-the-art, fully redundant high-end
switches and routers, BGP4 routing for optimal path selection and full redundancy,
    etc

Most colocation centers also offer SLAs (service level agreements) to support a host of computer and networking services like server reboots, software updates, hardware repairs / replacements, disaster recovery, etc.

Advantages of colocation
  • Financial Gains: Small and medium companies have a lot
to gain by opting for colocation. For one, there is an enormous amount of
money to be saved (between 25%-75%) on infrastructure, technology and human
resources. This leaves them free to concentrate on their core business areas.
  • Better Connectivity: Acquiring and maintaining a T1 line
or a fiber optic line to connect your networks is an expensive proposition.
Moreover, if your ISP turns out to be unreliable, you could lose valuable
business. Provisioning a T1 or fiber optic line at a colocation data center
is economical and most centers support multiple ISPs through fiber optic
lines or VSAT. Also, colocating mission critical servers at data centers
with fully redundant network connections ensures that business critical applications
    will always run smoothly.
  • Easy disaster recovery: Data centers also create disaster
recovery sites. In the event of a snag with the primary server, the entire
network automatically switches to an alternate mirrored site within a few
minutes. So outsourcing disaster recovery also costs much less than what
it would to set it up in-house.
  • Improved Network security: Most data centers offer state-of-the-art
network security, including fully updated firewalls / IDS applications to
detect and prevent unauthorized intrusions into their clients' systems. They
employ qualified technical personnel with certifications like CCNA and MCSE
to monitor the networks 24X7 and alert clients of any potential trouble.

In the wake of disasters like 9/11 and other natural disasters, depending on a single office to keep business-critical applications running is risky. Most companies are now taking steps to plan for such events by implementing a disaster recovery plans that include colocation facilities inside internet data centers. Data centers provide the best data management, system maintenance and up-to-date security services without the issues that accompany owning and operating a similar facility.

By utilizing collocation services in a data center facility, you will realize an immediate benefit in terms of costs saving and improved redundancy.

BlackBerry Messenger Jadi Platform Jejaring Sosial

Kompas

Great Resume Tips for Non-Writers

By Suzette Dean
Most often, even with the help of thousands of resume tips found on the internet and in books, writing a great resume can be a pain – especially for non-writers. While it’s true that a resume is the advertising of yourself, it does not have to be written as a literary piece. A resume is just a simple statement of facts as to what you are capable of doing that will contribute to the growth of the company you’re interested in joining. The first resume tip is to write the resume as straightforward as you can, highlighting your accomplishments and backing them up with numbers and concrete examples.
It is not right to think that a resume should be written in an artistic manner. The resume, being something that involves writing, is what intimidates those who have no inclination for prose. In the first place it’s not compulsory that everything that you write in your resume is in complete sentence format. For the most part, bullet points will do. All resume tips say that your resume should be brief, concise and factual. You must also know that even for writers, it’s often difficult to start any document, but once you have started it everything else will fall into place. Of course you start with writing your name, address and contact details at the upper left part of a plain white or ivory paper. If you have a unisex name such as Renee, Ali and Alex, don’t forget to include the prefix mister or miss.
Now here are some resume tips for the content. Being a document that highlights your best professional assets, it’s not a narration of your previous jobs, but of your accomplishments that are relevant to the job you are applying for. Limit the information that you will write down on your resume to that which is related to the job you are applying for. Relative to this, replace the phrase “tasks include” with “accomplishments were”.
How about a resume tip on deciding whether to write your job experiences in a chronological or functional order? If you are just sticking to one field and have been upwardly-moving, chronological order will do. If your focus is your skills that are applicable from one field to the other, the functional order of work experience is better. If you are a fresh graduate, highlight your accomplishments from school, both formal and non-formal trainings and seminars that will contribute to your performance in your first job. Again, don’t forget the resume tips on choosing only the relevant information, which also goes for your personal data.
You are not alone in your struggle to come up with a great resume that will make the employer want to interview and eventually, hire you. Above any other thing, it’s your honesty, skills and determination that will sell you to the interviewer. Anything phony and fancy will show, so always strive for the truth in advertising yourself- and that’s one of the best resume tips that you’ll ever get.

Why most design firms won't do spec work

Author: Wildfire Marketing Group Content Development Team

It's common for business owners to make unrealistic requests of design firms. Probably the most common is when they contact several design firms and ask them all to design something for them, whether it's a logo, brochure or some other piece, with the intent that they will choose one of the designs if they like it. While it may seem like there is nothing wrong with this request, in reality, there is. Think about how this request would be taken in any other industry.

Potential home buyer: I want you to build me a house and I'm going to have three other builders do the same thing. After these homes are completed, if I like one I'll purchase it.
Home builder: Uhhh...No.

Potential car buyer: I'm thinking about buying a car from either you or another car dealer with in a seventy mile radius. I'd like you to drop off one of each model of car that you have (the other car dealers will be doing the same) and after I've had a chance to drive all of them for a while I'll decide if I want to buy one.

Car dealer: Uhhh...No.

Restaurant visitor: I don't know what I want to eat, but I'll know what I like when I taste it. I want you to make everything from your menu deliver it to my house. Keep in mind that the Chinese, Italian and Mexican restaurants will be delivering their food as well. After tasting everything, if I'm still hungry, I will choose a meal from one restaurant.
Restaurant owner: Uhhh...No.

The bottom line is that graphic design is a business. You wouldn't run your business by handing out your product or service for free in hopes that someone might feel like paying for it and you shouldn't expect a design firm or designer to do so. Some firms will do spec work, but they usually fall into one of two categories. They are either brand new firms with no experience trying to land their first clients, or they are huge firms that only work with clients that have multi-million dollar advertising budgets.

Like any other business, a graphic design firm has overhead. By working on spec, they are forced to raise their prices because unlike some businesses that sell a product, graphic designers can not take back their time and resell it. Many people take for granted the overhead that can be necessary to run a graphic design firm. Specialized software is required to do what we do, and depending on what is needed, can be an investment of several thousand dollars per employee — which must be updated on a regular basis. Additionally, a graphic design firm needs far more robust hardware than the average user. Our processing power, memory and storage capacity needs can me mind blowing and frequent upgrades are often necessary. Most firms employ highly skilled designers, whom must be paid accordingly. These designers have the talent and experience to develop marketing materials that deliver results quickly and efficiently. All of this allows us to provide our clients the best service at a reasonable price and in a timely manner.

Improve Your Donation Thank-You Letters, Cards and Notes: Make Your Donor The Hero.

Author: Alan Sharpe

One temptation in writing fundraising thank-you letters is to make your organization the star of the letter. You feel pressure to tell your donors how terrific you are, how cost-effective you are or how broke you are. You are tempted to brag about your achievements, your success, your volunteers, your new board member and more.

You need to resist this temptation. The secret to crafting effective donation thank-you letters is "making the donor the star of every transaction," as Conrad Squires puts it in his book, Teach Yourself to Write Irresistible Fund-raising Letters.

The quickest and cheapest way to build donor loyalty and reduce donor attrition is to tell your donors how much they are accomplishing in the world through your organization. By making your donor the hero of every thank-you letter (and every appeal letter for that matter), you reinforce in their mind that they made the right decision in supporting your mission. And that they are right in continuing their support.

How to make the donor the hero
1. Use the word "you" more than you use the word "we." Make the letter all about the donor.
2. Show a direct link between the donor's donation and your mission. For example: "Thanks to your generous gift of $100, we fed 52 homeless men last night while the temperature hovered around -18° outside. Those men are thankful to you. And so am I."
3. Go beyond the donation to the donor, and describe how grateful you are for the donor as a person, as a supporter, as a friend of your organization.
4. Make your donors feel special by describing how they are one in a thousand, or one in ten thousand, by supporting your cause while others do not.

A sample thank-you letter
Below is a thank-you letter that Doctors Without Borders mailed to donors during the year that the organization won the Nobel Peace Prize.

Dear Alan Sharpe:

Two wonderful things happened this month.

We received your donation to our meningitis campaign. And we received the Nobel Peace Prize for humanitarian assistance.

We received this award because of supporters like you. It's ours together.

The Nobel Peace Prize is shared by the millions of people who support the work and principles of Doctors Without Borders. It's shared by the people who make the right to humanitarian assistance a reality. People like you.

So thank you for your donation. With your support, we can now respond quickly and effectively to meningitis epidemics. Even the best doctors cannot prevent meningitis without vaccinations. So thank you for your timely gift.

Doctors Without Borders operates only with the continued support of partners like you. That's why I'd like you to consider joining our monthly giving program, "Partners Without Borders."

As a member of Partners Without Borders, you help our volunteer physicians provide vital medical help anywhere, anytime. You also help us keep our administrative costs to a minimum. Every dollar we save is a dollar that we can use to fund our medical projects.
Giving every month is more convenient for you. You make small donations on a regular basis instead of a larger donation all at once.

Our being awarded the Nobel Peace Prize is international confirmation of the fundamental right of ordinary people to humanitarian assistance and protection. Please join Partners Without Borders today. Simply complete the form below. And thank you again for your support.

Branding Concepts

Author: Vikas Malhotra

Branding is a process that is used by the businesses to utilize marketing strategies to enhance their product or service image so that it is more readily recollected by the customer. Branding helps the product or service to make a favorable impact on the target customer while the branding concepts help in outlining the guidelines that should be followed during the branding process.

Branding of any product and service should follow some constants that help in establishing a brand in the long run. The internet branding strategies should have the following constants in your branding formula:

? Branding should be simple
The most popular brands in the world have very simple, easy to remember logos. The reason behind this concept is, we tend to remember and associate ourselves with simple things and choose to ignore or forget complex ideas.

? Branding should be different
Your brand should have individuality, should be different. The brand should stand out from other similar product or service; otherwise the whole idea of branding is lost. Only an individualistic brand makes a mark on the psyche of the target customer and he remembers it when he makes a buying decision. This is why most of the MNCs take strict action on trademark violations.

? Branding should be safe
Play safe and do your research if you are catering to international audience. If you are using symbols in your logo make sure they do not offend the target market in any way or you can chances of shutting your shop before making any sales. Therefore keep the regional and cultural sensibilities in mind during the branding process.

The three most important branding concepts that are the basis of all branding processes are brand promise, brand attributes and brand personality.
A brand promise is a promise or commitment the company makes to its customers. The promise should be clearly stated and tells about the most important benefit of the product or customer.

Brand attributes are the features that describe the customer's experience like quality, innovation or customer service. The attributes help the company to deliver the brand promise. Brand personality is the characteristic the customer experiences when they experience the brand. Thus the essence of the brand is a symbiosis of all three.

Starting a Bake Shop Business

Author: Susan Hutson

If baking is your forte, then starting a bake shop business can prove to be a good business proposition.

Making a living doing what you want requires both passion and commitment in equal amounts. Anyone who bakes will know the kind of effort and attention that goes into coming up with all those delectable cakes and pastries, pies and scones and all those other bake â€Å“what not’s” that can get your mouth watering. However if you are passionate about baking, are creative and experimental and like the idea of being your own boss then opening a bake shop business is where you should think of channelizing your efforts and energy.

Home or Retail Outlet?

The best part about this business is that it can prove to be just as profitable even if you decide to run it from home! Your kitchen probably has all the necessary equipment already. Things such as an oven and baking pans are commonly used in almost all homes. This means you don’t have to worry about a huge investment. But before you do anything first make up your mind, from where you plan to run your bake shop business. Are you going to make it a â€Å“home business” venture or plan on taking up a retail outlet?

Running a business from your home is a simpler and cheaper option obviously. And with the internet, you don̢۪t really need to have a physical location to do any kind of business. A lot of small and medium business owners create a website for their business and use it to successfully invite clients and customers and to advertise their products. A retail unit is an option if you have the monetary funds and resources required. Again as mentioned earlier, where you plan to do business from is for you to decide.

How do the others do it?

Although there is a good market for all kinds of cakes and bakes, it is advisable to check out competition as well as what sells, what is in demand and most importantly how people advertise and sell their products. In order to do this, make a list of all the bake shop businesses in and around your area. Check these places and gather information from the owners if possible

Planning for you business

Once you have all the information you want your next step is to put all that information into perspective. The most important step is to come up with a well chalked out plan for your bake shop business. Once you are done with that your next step will be to create a business plan that outlines just how you are going to go ahead with setting up your business.

Include things like, investment required (on a very small and basic level), hiring of labor or help (optional) equipment and items needed, advertising costs, operational costs of running your business on a daily basis (electricity, phone, water, storage facilities etc. Obviously your startup costs and other figures will be higher if you plan to rent a retail unit as opposed to operating from your home.

Marketing

No business can succeed without some form of marketing. Unlike big businesses you may not have the option of a big advertising budget. But the good news is that you can market your business even without it. Here are some easy and cheap ways of doing so –

̢ۢ Place advertisements in the yellow pages
̢ۢ Print flyers
̢ۢ Word of mouth advertising
̢ۢ Setup a website for you business
̢ۢ Give away free samples
̢ۢ Offer a gift basket or hamper at a local function/retail store
̢ۢ Place advertisements on notice boards of schools and your church
̢ۢ Print business cards and hand them out generously.

Strategi Pemasaran (Marketing Strategy)

Author: Daniel Levis

Marketing Strategy 101
When it comes to marketing strategy blunders, pretty much everybody remembers the nosedive failure of New Coke, right? But what most people don't know is the fascinating story behind the story, & the valuable lesson it reveals.

In the early eighties, Coke was about to lose a marketing
trump card to Pepsi. Coke's market share had been in free
fall since the end of the war, declining from 60% at that
time, to just 24% in 1983. Pepsi was about to be able to
claim that not only did it taste better than Coke (as
proven in blind taste tests), but that it was actually more popular. This would have added even more fuel to Pepsi's already significant marketing momentum.

While Coke was also losing market share to other new market entries, and increasing consumer preference for diet, citrus, & caffeine-free beverages etc., Pepsi's marketing strategy was continuing to win new customers.

Obviously, people preferred the taste of Pepsi! Better
taste was the main thrust of their advertising. Why else
would anybody drink such an otherwise worthless mixture of ingredients?

This fact was further born out with the runaway success of
Diet Coke. Coke actually developed it from the ground up to taste more like Pepsi, rather than simply replacing the sugar content of the original recipe with artificial sweeteners.

All of the facts & evidence pointed to Coke having a taste problem with the original recipe. Coke had in fact been working in secret for years on a new one.

Drawing on the success of Diet Coke, Coke's marketing
strategy called for the modification of that recipe to a
sugar based drink. They felt they could finally turn the

tide by introducing "NEW Coke", based on that formula.

In pre launch blind taste tests, people thought the new
Coke tasted sweeter & smoother than the original. Extensive research revealed that people preferred the New Coke to both the original Coca Cola recipe & Pepsi.

Statistically speaking, the taste of New Coke was
significantly preferable.
New Coke was the solution, but what to do with the
original? If they kept both on the market, it was a sure
bet that Pepsi would be able to claim that it was more
popular than both, at least for a time! And a marketing strategy that called for the promotion of a new & an old Coke would only confuse the public & dilute the brand.

The original recipe was dropped.

So what happened when new Coke was introduced?

It bombed completely, & utterly! Here's the brilliant tag
line that they used to introduce it. "The Best Just Got
Better, Coke Is It!" Gee, that looks like a winner.

People hated the new Coke, many without even having to
taste it. And they were incensed that the original had been "stolen" from them.

One hundred years, & countless millions of dollars in advertising had made Coke Cola a part of people's very identity. Drinking Coca Cola wasn't about taste at all.

It was about mental association.

Emotional Opium!

The act of raising that funny looking spiral bottle to your lips. The cane sugary fragrance that followed. The sharp carbonated bite that set your throat a blaze with each vigorous swig. For many people, it was anchored deeply to fond, albeit sometimes even imaginary memories.

Coke had no choice but to bring back the original recipe,
amid a huge fanfare of publicity, as though it were the
second coming.

What a hullabaloo about nothing. Sugar water.

For god's sake!

If nothing else, this story should prove to you once & for
all that it's not what you do that counts, it's what you
say & how powerfully you say it. And, that your customer's
buy, or don't buy, for all kinds of seemingly irrational reasons. What's critically important is not your product, but how your marketing strategy relates ownership of that product to your buyer's beliefs, feelings, & desires!

It also demonstrates that "me to" can be a very dangerous marketing strategy.

While huge companies like Coke can afford to blow through billion dollar advertising budgets like there's no tomorrow, as a Guerrilla marketer, I urge you to avoid expensive frontal assaults & one-upmanship like the plague.

Be creative instead, & seek to outflank the enemy!

Learn about Bipolar

Author: Aby Yusuf

Bipolar Disorder

Kalau menurut wikipedia, Bipolar disorder or manic-depressive disorder, which is also referred to as bipolar affective disorder or manic depression, is a psychiatric diagnosis that describes a category of mood disorders defined by the presence of one or more episodes of abnormally elevated energy levels, cognition, and mood with or without one or more depressive episodes. The elevated moods are clinically referred to as mania or, if milder, hypomania. Individuals who experience manic episodes also commonly experience depressive episodes, or symptoms, or mixed episodes in which features of both mania and depression are present at the same time.

Saya ingin sedikit bercerita pengalaman tentang manik depresif.

Hmm, saya perkirakan tingginya sekitar 175cm.
Akhirnya saya berhasil membawanya naik angkutan umum. Didalam angkutan umum dia duduk dipojok paling belakang angkot tepat sebelah kiri saya.

- Sering mengambil keputusan tanpa berpikir risikonya.

Choosing A Crystal Chandelier For Your Bedroom

Author: Vanessa Doctor

Crystal chandeliers can help make a room appear more elegant and more beautiful while still making it functional in terms of lighting.

When discussing about light fixtures, people usually think of crystal chandeliers initially, this may be attributed to its characteristic of being a well-known sophisticated and attractive lighting that can help improve the overall quality and aesthetic look of any room. This type of chandelier offers a wide variety of choices for its consumers, ranging from different and unique designs, different colors, to the size, shape and number of crystals that are actually used on the chandelier.

Although there are a lot of different kinds of chandeliers out there, crystal chandeliers are considered to be one of the most expensive and most popular types of chandeliers in the market. A lot of people are attracted to crystal chandeliers mainly because of its exquisiteness and majesty that can be associated with royalty or wealth, which is why a lot of people choose to use this type of chandelier in decorating their homes.

Where To Put Chandeliers

Chandeliers are more commonly used in the dining room or the living room, which are places wherein people mostly get together and hold parties or social gatherings. These are the more ideal places to put crystal chandeliers since these rooms usually have high ceilings, or offer enough space to accommodate whatever sized chandelier you may have, in order to avoid making the room feel cramp or crowded. However, with the evolving trend nowadays, chandeliers are beginning to find their way to other rooms that normally would not house such an ornate fixture. One room in particular is the bedroom.

Chandeliers In Bedrooms

Bedrooms are commonly used for sleeping and resting. This is considered to be a place of sanctuary for a person, especially for a person who wishes to get away from his work or the world in general. Since bedrooms are used for such intimate settings and purposes, putting crystal chandeliers in it would not be at the top of people̢۪s list. However, crystal chandeliers in bedrooms can actually help create the mood that you desire for your bedroom, improving your bedroom̢۪s aesthetic look as well as its functionality.

Choosing Chandeliers For Your Bedroom

When choosing crystal chandeliers for bedrooms, it is important to remember that the look of the chandelier should not overpower the aura that the bedroom is creating. Keep in mind that the chandelier should not be the main focus of the room, but the bed should be, which is why your chandelier should not be too over-elaborate in order to make it complement the room instead of overpowering it. The design should be soft and smooth to help accent the atmosphere of the bedroom.

The look of any chandelier is only half the battle, which is why determining the type of light, color and brightness, of the chandelier is just as important in maintaining the serene environment of your bedroom. You can always attach your crystal chandelier to a dimmer switch so you can adjust the light from very bright to a bit dim, depending on the type of lighting that you may need. In terms of color, crystal chandeliers can create some of the most stunning display of colors through the lighting and the crystals used on the chandelier, giving your room a certain aura and look. It would be best, however, if you chose colors that are not too dark or too strong, for this can help create a soft glow to your room, making it a more appealing place to rest.

Tips to dress as per your age

Author: arif12

When you are fifty plus, it is not advisable to wear revealing outfits and you also need to take care of the skirt length. The recommendation is the skirt should not rise more than an inch above the knee. Ladies evening tops that are not very jazzy are ideal as a good combination with such skirts.

You can still buy the latest fashion glossy magazine twice a year and also visit some of the shops frequented by youngsters to get the best of accessories.

With regard to makeup, less is more, and since eye-lids can appear heavy, it is better to make use of mascara that is water-proof along with an eye-liner which can lost long and prevent any smudging. You can wear your eyebrows thin by using an eye-brow pencil, taking care to see that it is not too dark.

Hair management is better when it is short or of shoulder length at this age. You can compensate for the short hair by ensuring softness and bounce so that the impression conveyed is favourable. Both Sharon Stone as well as Anna Wintour has demonstrated how great the right fringe can look, and there is no harm in you following suit.

Do ensure however that you go easy with the hair colour and allow some streaks of white as well as grey to be seen for that natural look.

Those of you in your forties will do well to remember that repeating an outfit should be avoided unless you have been wearing something that has stood the test of time for more than a couple of seasons. You can really go to town with some vibrant tops to complement trousers or skirts depending on the occasion.

Makeup should be done using a moisturiser so that your skin can boast a nice glow. After forty, skin normally starts losing its youthfulness and begins to appear pallid.

You can, however, be liberal in your use of the lip gloss to make your lips appear fuller.

The forties are probably some of the last years where you can still manage hair that is worn long. The only care to be taken is to wear it in the right manner and in this regard you can take a cue from Jennifer Aniston, as well as Liz Hurley, who have really managed to look great for so many years. Any grey hair should be tackled with discreet use of the appropriate hair colour.

How do I Increase My Google Page Rank?

Author: Mike Podlesny

Google has become the gold standard by which an Internet surfer searches for something on the world wide web. By entering in a few words into their search box, you instantaneously are shown thousands if not hundred of thousands of results for the words entered.

If you have ever wondered how they can return those results so quickly, the answer is very simply the Google algorithm. It is this algorithm in which Google uses to index every webpage on the Internet. This indexing then ranks the pages based on importance on a scale of 1 to 10, with one being the lowest and ten of course being the highest.

This importance is tracked by the number of of other web pages that link back to it. The algorithm goes into more depth than that, but basically that is how it works. Your goal to build up your website or blog should be to increase its rank. Increasing its rank will invariably display your information higher on the list during a Google search for keywords that your site includes.

Below are a few ways to assist in achieving that higher rank.

Exchange Links. You want to exchange links with other websites or blogs that have similar content as yours. You contact a site and ask if they would like to display your link information, and in exchange you will display theirs. We have done this on our site with over 3,500 different sites and it was worked wonderfully for us. We basically exchange with everybody, but that is because our site handles a variety of topics. Find sites to exchange links with and contact them. The more links you have, the better off you will.

One Way Links. Unlike a link exchange where two sites link to each other, a one way link is just what it sounds like. It is a link from a web site or blog that only links to you, however you are not required to link back to them. A good way to achieve this is to create them. There are a number of advertising websites out there that allow you to post an ad for free. Craigslist, AdPost and Indocquent are just a few Post your link information to them all. These are your one way links. One way links carry more weight in the Google algorithm them swapped links. However, combining the two will increase it that much more.

More One Way Links. Another great way to get one way links is to partake in online discussions. For instance we publish all kinds of articles related to a variety of topics on our website. A feature that we recently implemented was allowing readers to comment on the article. This is a great area to comment on the article and leave a link to your website or blog. The comment never expires and if what you write is well thought out and helpful to other readers, they may just click on it to visit what you are promoting.

Father Time. Time is your best friend and your enemy here. Although it has never been confirmed, rumor has it that the Google algorithm includes a system check in there for the length of time your web site or blog has been around. With good reason if you think about it. Thousands of website are created daily, many disappear after a month. It would be a strain on Google`s indexing system to constantly weed out these sites that never make it. Therefore, the longer a site has been around the favorably it is looked upon. So as you can see time is your friend if your site has been around awhile, and your enemy if it is fairly new.

So there you have it four different ways you can hel increase the Google page rank for your site or blog.

7 Clues That Your Wife Is Cheating On You

Author: Robbie Nash

Cheating is the worst form of destruction to any relationship or marriage; it is already considered a betrayal of the vows couples took when they got married. The discovery of the act of cheating by the other half can either break the marriage or make it stronger depending on the strength of their love for one another.

Cheating generally means that your spouse is not fully satisfied with you or she feels that something is missing in the relationship. If she is completely in love and happy with the relationship, why it might happen that your partner has an affair?

Trust is a big factor, not only of your partner, but also of yourself. Probably for some time you have sensed something is different or questioned the change of behavior in your partner.

Nobody deserves to be cheated on, no matter what state your marriage is in and if you believe your partner is having an affair, now is the time to check it out and do a little investigation just to be sure.

Start by looking for the obvious things such as a change in the way your partner dresses, a sudden desire to look good, a change in work patterns, an unusual interest in the gym, secrecy over phone calls or emails, a loss of intimacy in your marriage, lack of sexual interest or distance between you and your wife that never used to exist. In such a case, it may be necessary to investigate further. A cheating wife can cause much emotional trauma, not to mention the harm it could cause a family.

Here are some important clues that might help you to find out if your partner is having an affair.

1. Changes in appearance and attitude. She has a sudden preoccupation with her appearance. She is more interested on how she dresses; go often to a hair salon and even to gym, even if this wasn't her main priority before.

2. Lessened intimacy. If in the past you used to share everything with your wife and then suddenly she seems distanced and clams up when you try to discuss intimate things, it could mean that she has already distanced herself emotionally and mentally from you. She is suddenly frigid and loses any interest in doing anything with you.

3. She's being secretive. She's no longer sharing her daily events with you. She might avoid you because she feels guilty. Don't get paranoid and suspicious, ask her if everything is ok and tell her she's been acting differently lately.

4. Disinterest in family. If your wife is no longer excited to meet you at the door from work there must be a problem here. Or when your partner feels the sudden need to go out, try to find a reason to accompany her. If she comes up with a reason that she had to go on her own, push the issue, not too much but just enough to see if she becomes more uncomfortable.

5. Less arguing and fighting. She used to get angry if you didn't want to come out with her and her friends, but now everything you do is all right by her. Once upon a time, your every move had to be premeditated, but now all the usual things that used to make her angry no longer bother her one bit. This could be a good thing, but you wonder why she no longer cares.

6. More phone and internet usage. Now, she speaks a lot at the telephone using a low voice and hangs up quickly when you approach. Maybe she set up a new e-mail account and doesn't tell you about it. She might also buy a cell phone and doesn't let you know. Ask her if she is being true with you and if she becomes accusatory then it is obvious that she is cheating on you.

7. She's always late. In the past she never came home late but now this happens more and more often. Her explanation is that she had to stay late at the office because she has a lot of work to do. Or she goes to the store and comes home four hours later. This is really a reason to worry.

In short, cheating wives often look and act guilty and give a general feeling that something isn̢۪t right. They try and avoid meaningful conversations and keep everything at a general and non-intimate level. If your wife is behaving in the way right now, it is certainly time to dig further

Business in the 21st Century: Outsourcing

Author: Alex Martin

The word outsourcing is often heard in the world of business today. It is something which has affected the business of almost every nature and every nation. Outsourcing is occurring in almost every country of this world to some extent. There are some leader countries in this field of outsourcing such as India and China. Before moving towards the topic of this article let us first understand what outsourcing is.

What is Outsourcing?

When discussed in simple words outsourcing is simply a formal agreement with a third party to perform a service for an organization. A more comprehensive definition for outsourcing would be that outsourcing is the concept of taking internal company functions and paying an outside firm to handle them. It is basically done for the following major reasons:

-To save money in terms of lowering costs

-To improve quality

-To free company resources for other activities such as focusing more on competencies

The concept of outsourcing began with the data-processing industry and today it has spread to vase areas which comprise of tele-messaging and call centers. It would not all be wrong to say that outsourcing is the surge of the next generations. Another name used for outsourcing is off shoring which has the same meaning as outsourcing.

Technically speaking, outsourcing is not merely the contract with a third party to perform a service for an organization, but it also involves transferring a significant amount of management control and decision-making to the external supplier. The process of outsourcing is very much formal like other business processes and it always includes a considerable degree of two-way information exchange, coordination, and trust.

The concept of outsourcing gained popularity in the mid 1990s since then the trend of outsourcing has increased to a great extent. The reason for this increase in the popularity of the concept of outsourcing was the rapid growth in the number of high-tech companies in the early 1990s that were often not vast or large enough to incorporate and run large customer service departments of their own.

Different Techniques of Outsourcing

The concept of outsourcing was adopted by different organizations in different methods such as in some cases the companies who desired to outsource their customer service:

-Hired technical writers in order to write simplified usage instructions of their products

-Index the key points of information

-Contracted with temporary employment agencies to search for, train and hire generally low-skilled workers to answer their telephone technical support and customer service calls

The most wide spread method of outsourcing being adopted throughout the world is of call centers. The people employed at the call centers answered the query calls of the customers, where the information needed to assist the calling customer was indexed in a computer system. In most cases the agents were not liable to tell the customers that they were not directly associated with the original manufacturer.

Outsourcing: Business in the 21st Century

As it has been discussed in the introductory paragraph of this article that outsourcing has become a buzz since the last few years. Almost every country and almost every organization is outsourcing a part of its tasks or some tasks. The reason that has been found for the increase in the trend of outsourcing for businesses is it increases profit and lower costs, and business focuses most on these aspects. For instance if we consider the example of IBM , which in the year 2003, decided to outsource the jobs of almost 5000 programmers to India and China. Similarly, Microsoft, Dell, American Express, and virtually every major multinational from Accenture to Yahoo has already outsourced work or is taking decisions to do so. From the studies of the outsourcing of these companies it has been found that the savings due to outsourcing are spectacular as companies can reduce around 20% to 70% of their labor costs by outsourcing jobs to low-wage nations considering that the work is of same quality.

The different Business tasks that are being outsourced in the 21st century

The concept of outsourcing is applied to a vast area of business processes or tasks. Every organization outsources some particular tasks to a vendor. The task that was outsourced mostly when outsourcing began, was customer support, later with the advancement in technology and knowledge this limited area included IT, data analysis, Medicare, engineering and a few more. The following is an explanation of how these different tasks are outsourced:

Outsourcing Data Analysis

Every organization that is operating possesses a large amount of data, the useful information is mingled within this data, and retrieving it is a full time consuming task. This task is known as Data analysis. It is a complex task of extracting useful information from a pile of data. The process of data analysis occurs in operations like banking operations, retail or pharmaceutical research. The nature of analysis differs with the difference in data, each kind of data requires a different method of analysis. Some kind of data requires to be collected and calculated as a whole to present a final conclusion whereas some data requires to be studied individually. This comprehensive task when outsourced to a third party, reduces the extra work load and cost of the organization.

Outsourcing IT

Outsourcing IT is defined as using outside vendors to create, maintain, or reengineer IT architectures and systems. The methods of outsourcing that have been discussed earlier in this article are those which have now become old, one of the latest one is outsourcing IT. The process of outsourcing IT involves involves the effective management and operation of information technology assets of corporations from a remote location. To explain this concept, consider the example of the management of a computer network of a large corporation which includes outage monitoring, alarms monitoring, remote monitoring of data centers, etc. The nature of these operations is complex and requires a real-time support when needed. Hence it can be assumed that such processes cannot be easily outsourced to places where there is a big difference in the time zones. Such tasks are outsourced to comparable time zone locations, which are competitive.

Medicare

Outsourcing Medicare is a promising but debatable area. Outsourcing Medicare can include the following:

-The trivial keying in of the physicians transcript (in audio) of the treatment records into a structured documents to physically sending the patients to another country for treatment.
