Thus the number of bodyguard jobs has increased with the need to increased security for all types of circumstances. The US President can need up to 100 bodyguards at any one time.

Of course any new candidate will need to undertake a basic bodyguard course to understand all aspects of this industry and these can usually be completed at a city close to you. Depending on whom you work for in bodyguard jobs and what your duties are, the following skills may be called upon. These include close protection, Anti-terrorism, First Aid, Risk Assessment, Weapons Disarming, Unarmed Combat, Counter Surveillance, Dispute Resolution, Advanced / Defensive Driving and Executive Protection.

Salaries for bodyguard jobs do vary, but as an example, experienced bodyguards can earn around US $55,000 a year. Bodyguards, who work for VIPs or other people with high security threats against them, can earn over US $180,000 a year. Generally speaking, the greater the threat to the person you are protecting, the more money you will earn by keeping them safe.

If you are serious about wanting to take up bodyguard jobs - regardless of whether its in the United States, United Kingdom, or elsewhere in the world, there is a lot to know before you starting applying for any jobs. Do not ruin your chances in the industry by applying for the wrong jobs or the right jobs in the wrong places - as this can damage your future employment prospects.

What Loose Or Worn Tie Rod End Could Cost You

Author: James Russel

Steering looseness is one of the most common problems of automobile owners. The common causes of the said problem include worn tie rod ends, worn idler arms, damaged center links (for vehicles without rack and pinion steering), and tatty steering gears or racks. Among these causes, the most overlooked is the problem on worn tie rod ends.

People, most of the time, ignore steering looseness. Unfortunately, they realize the importance of solving it when they experience the wrath of their carelessness and lack of foresight. Normally, the steering wheel should have no greater than a quarter inch of play. More than that would mean something is worn or loose and it needs some fixing.

To remedy the problem, others would put off. According to experts, this should not be done because the failure of a vital auto component could result to loss of steering control. Both the inner and the outer tie rod ends should have no detectable looseness. A worn or loose tie rod end is especially perilous. It does not only result to rapid tire wear but it could cost you a fortune. Or worst, it could take lives.

If your vehicle has a lot of miles on it, the steering rack or gear may be worn. There is usually an adjustment screw found on conventional steering boxes. The screw could be utilized to take some of the slack out of the system. If the vehicle has rack and pinion steering, adjustment is of little help for the reason that the rack develops center wear. The only solution is for the center wear to have a replacement of the entire rack assembly. Sometimes, the steering of the vehicle will feel loose because of a tatty U-joint coupling in the steering column. Another worth noting cause is worn wheel bearings.

A loose or worn tie rod end results to a feathered wear pattern on the front tires. To detect it, car owners should raise the front of the vehicle off the ground and shake the front wheel back and forth. If you sense a free play, there is something wrong with the tie rod end and it needs immediate replacement.

If you are using a Ford vehicle, its tie rod has typically a tie rod end on both ends. The end Ford rod tie is used to link the steering rack with the front wheel hub. It also has a threaded adjusting sleeve that allows the length of the tie rod to be adjusted. The adjustment is intended for the alignment of the toe. A worn Ford tie rod end could cause excessive tire wear.

What does a NHTSA Ford tie rod end have to do with the vehicle handling? When a vehicle owner intends a performance Mustang or Focus SVT, he will be using the best shocks, bushings, and springs. However, if the Ford tie rod used is out of spec, good handling could never be had. This means that end Ford rod tie should be replaced first before one could move on to more intricate upgrades. Basically, Ford tie rod end tightens the steering feel.

OBD1 Codes Secrets for Domestic Vehicles

Author: Richard Trent

For vehicles made after 1996, retrieving the codes of the check engine light in your dash panel is simple. All you need to do is find your diagnostic connector located under the dash by the driver side. You can then hook up a scanner and the codes will be displayed for you. If you don't have any scanner like most drivers, you can bring your vehicle to any local automotive parts store and they will usually scan the codes FREE for you. However, for vehicles made on or before 1995, there is only one cheap way to get it: You do it yourself!

On board diagnostic (OBD) was designed on vehicles equipped with electronic fuel injection so you can generally retrieve the codes yourself. No need buying a scanner or running to any parts stores to check the engine light. This system is called obd1 and applies to most vehicles made before 1995 for domestics and 1993 on imports. In this article, I will discuss the methods used by domestic vehicle manufacturers on how to check the engine lights in their cars and trucks.

For GM domestic vehicles made before 1995, the diagnostic connector is located under the dash panel by the driver side. To get the check engine codes to flash in your dash panel, use a jumper wire or a paper clip and connect terminals A and B of the diagnostic connector. Turn your ignition key on with engine off and the codes should start to blink. All codes should start with code 12 which is one long flash followed by 2 short flashes. This code 12 means the diagnostic system is normal and will repeat itself continuously if there are no trouble codes. Otherwise, code 12 will flash 3 times before flashing the fault codes.

Ford owners can check their check engine light using the diagnostic connector located at the engine compartment by the fender near the battery. Getting the obd1 codes need a couple of tools: a 4 inch long gage 16 jumper wire and a 12 volt test light.

Both tools are hooked up to the diagnostic connector and when the ignition key is turned on (without starting engine) the codes will begin to flash in the test light, not in the dash panel. If there is no code, you will normally get code 11 or 111. On Fords, there are 2 test modes, the KOEO (key on engine off) and the KOER (key on engine running). Both test modes should be used to get the accurate evaluation of the stored fault codes.

Of all the 3 domestic vehicles, the easiest method to check the engine light is Chrysler products. Why? Because all you need is to turn the ignition key on and off a within 5 seconds and the codes will start to flash in the dash panel.

Counting the codes being flashed is almost the same for these 3 domestic vehicles and most of the codes can be erased or cleared by disconnecting the battery negative terminal for 1 minute and reconnect. Just make sure to check your service manual in case you have electronic equipment such as radio or clock that needs reprogramming in which battery disconnection is not recommended. Finally after performing repairs on the culprit code, always go for a road test to confirm if the problem is fixed.

If you want a detailed way on how the above procedures are done, please visit my blog: http://check-engine-light-codes.blogspot.com . This blog offers free info on how to check engine light codes with color pictures and regular repair tips so you can save money next time you see your check engine light.

How Do Boilers Work?

Author: Mark

A boiler is an important component of a heating system used in homes, buildings, industries and in making hot water. It is the part that contains water and moves heat in the form of steam from a fuel source such as oil, gas or coal to provide warm air. This is often found in hot water heating systems that convert heated water into steam and returns it to the source to be reused when the air gets cooler.

Specifically, a boiler works by burning natural gas, oil or wood pellet to heat water that goes through hot water tubes or cylinders, radiators or underfloor systems. Boilers can be energy efficient if well maintained, properly set up and their insulation intact and sealed well.

In most residential and small commercial applications, boilers can produce hot water at around 160 to 180 degrees Fahrenheit which is then circulated throughout the system using a pump. At temperature above 212 degrees Fahrenheit, steam is produced.

Types of boilers

Boilers can be closed or open systems. A closed system refers to one which is able to reuse 100 percent of the steam produced by a boiler. In other words, the energy from the steam is converted back into the form of water to be used again in producing heat. A hot water heating system is an example. On the other hand, an open system is one which does not return the condensate back into the boiler as the process of heating may be a source of contamination.

Boilers also come in two basic types – the firetube and the watertube. In the firetube or shell boilers, the fire or the hot gases are directed through the inner part of the tubes situated within the boiler shell surrounded by water. This design type, which is found in 80 percent of boilers, can produce steam of up to a maximum of 25,000 pounds per hour.

In the watertube, the fire or hot gases are directed to and around the exterior of tubes containing water. The boilers in this type are rectangular in shape and have two or more drums. In the top drum is where steam and water are separated while the lower drum acts as a collection point. When a huge amount of steam is needed, this system is very ideal.

How it works

Boilers operate when fuel is supplied to the burner. Natural gas is supplied through the gas pipe, oil or LPG through a pressurized tank while the wood pellet is blown to the burner. Fuel is then mixed with air and ignited.

The next stage is when the fire from the burner and its combustion gases escapes into the boiler. What follows is the transfer of heat to the water that circulates through the heat exchanger within the boiler.

When water is heated, it then produces warm air around the house via the radiators, underfloor heater and hot water tubes.

Keep in mind that boilers have to be regularly cleaned to make it work for a longer period. As they age, boilers that are not well maintained usually become less efficient.

Here are some tips then to follow. Run your boiler for short periods of time. Also, avoid turning it on and off very often as doing so could affect its system. Leave at least a one-hour interval before switching it on again.

Author: myindiaguide

There are many cars in India is going to be launched in this year and in the next. A touch of foreign exterior is expected in almost all cars. The Fiat Grande Punto is a large two box hatch and Volkswagen Polo is a premium hatchback. These cars are specially designed for Indian market. Polo will be rolled out with three engine options namely - two petrol variants and one diesel variant. All the Polo models sold in India will come equipped with air-condition. The new Polo will most likely come in 3-door and 5-door hatchback versions, and the design is expected to be inspired from Volkswagen's stunning Scirocco. Whereas, the Grande Punto for India will be available only in the five door version. Diesel and petrol engine options will put it at par with the Suzuki Swifts, or even the Skoda Fabias India. Coming to the fifth generation Polo which would be made at Chakan from the end of this calendar year. The Chakan plant began with its pre-series production of the new Polo, which will be ready for launch in India by 2010. The first finished body of the Polo was rolled to the paint shop in April, 2009. This car is a nifty number which can seat five adults in comfort and has tremendously high levels of build quality and refinement. The Grande Punto is extremely roomy, with excellent front visibility, easy access and a large luggage compartment. It would come with a range of petrol and diesel powerplants and maybe VW could also offer its highly acclaimed BlueMotion technologies to not just make the Polo an emissions beater but also trade on a high fuel efficiency capability which has been proved all over the world.
